Iris Maskelyne

What brought you to Second Life and how your store came into existence?

I came to Second Life out of boredom, but found in it a vast and diverse community of lively and creative people. After just a few months on the grid, I eagerly began experimenting with textures and prims, and by the end of 2009 I had my first furniture set on sale in a little store I'd tentatively named "DIGS". I never expected DIGS to find footing like it has, and over 3 years later I'm still somewhat surprised. More than that, immensely grateful for the opportunity to share my creations with Second Life's residents.

Please tell us a little bit about your store and your products?

I think the homewares at DIGS reflect my own varied aesthetic. I've made contemporary, retro, traditional and antique styled items. The introduction of mesh has been a great step forward for DIGS along with the rest of the grid, and I'm really thrilled to now be bringing my own original mesh to Second Life, with better detailing and texture work than I could have offered before the change. That said, my aim is not just to create attractive pieces, but also to offer versatility and usability in my furniture. I try to compile varied and inclusive animations menus, adding another facet to a product, that I hope people will enjoy. DIGS items are designed to be "lived with" as well as "looked at".

What is the prize that you made for Room 326?
The Amaris End Table is a versatile painted wooden table with drawer and cupboard. It could suit a bedroom, living room, or even outside living space, and with a big variety of paint colours in new and worn options,
you can change it to suit your decor.
Have you visited Mad City? If so, what is your favorite thing about Mad City?

Mad City is one of the most impeccably designed locations I've seen on the grid. I love the details - they really enhance the atmosphere of the place, making it such a pleasure to explore!

What is your favorite thing about being involved in the hunt?
Are you planning on doing the hunt yourself?

I've started the hunt, but I've been so busy with work lately, I've not got as far as I'd like. I'd better get cracking and finish before the end of August! It's wonderful to participate in an event among talented creators, but also to be part of an event where such care has been taken over a greater narrative. It's more involved, and quite different from other hunts.

What would you like to say to the Peas looking to start this MadPea Hunt?

Enjoy the hunting, as well as the prizes!

Thank you for your time and the interview!

Now if you have not gone and done The Return of Room 326 Hunt, you have no reason at all not to! The story and experience is enough to just have you become one of the 50's again and travel into the past. But now you see now even the vendors that have chosen to
be part of this experience are as amazing as the game it self!

Room 326 Vendor Interview: Death Row Designs

Death Row Designs

Jaimy Hancroft

Please tell us a little bit about your store and your products?

I started making stuff the first week I popped in SL, I couldn't find anything I wanted back  in the day and since I had some Photoshop experience I decided to make it myself , and sometimes selling some items that people asked about, from there on I made my first lindens to rent a small stall, and then more stalls.. after a while I had enough for a parcel, and eventually it grew till I got a full sim :) very slowly it became what DRD is today. I changed it  a lot overtime but recently it went trough a complete transformation to become a bit more mainstream, but! no worries for all you weirdos out there :p I have plans on making more unique mesh accessories, the gory bloody goodness you guys love from DRD in a different section of death row I don't want to let the peoples down :) the shop has a lot of mesh clothing now all created by DRD...oh. and the old items are all on give away in lucky chairs on the sim! :)

What is the prize that you made for Room 326?

I did a version of some pair of boots I made a while ago, these are
the most popular items in store right now, and I thought it would be cool to make a gory bloody looking version for this japanese horror themed madpea hunt :) they are rigged mesh combat boots, for both male and female, it includes a non rigged version aswell.

Have you visited Mad City? If so, what is your favorite thing about Mad City?

I visited yes, I'm obsessed with the rain lol I WANTS IT .. looks pretty badass :p

What is your favorite thing about being involved in the hunt?
Are you planning on doing the hunt yourself?

Oh I just love Madpea, I think I have been doing madpea hunt since forever lol .. plus its hard to turn down Kiana when she  makes a puppysadface XD

What would you like to say to the Peas looking to start this MadPea Hunt?

I'll just say this, if you do; do the hunt ......
you ain't seen nothing yet ... *evil grin*

Room 326 Vendor Interview: Sakide

Sakide

http://sakide.me/

Kinu Mayako

What brought you to Second Life and got you started?

I started Second Life about 6 years ago, after I was brought here by a friend who played a similar game. I made a lot of friends, owned a club, hosted for many and then, since I am a webmaster in real life, I looked into making clothes. With the support of my friends, I started Sassy Kitty Designs 5 years ago, which I changed into SAKIDE 2 years ago, with few Neko tails and women clothing. Since then it has been an awesome adventure and turned out to be the greatest job anyone can have. I'm deeply thankful for all the love and encouragement
I received over the past years.

Please tell us a little bit about your store and your products?

SAKIDE is a women clothing store for the most part, with a few shoes, accessories and lately some Men clothing. I try to create casual, sexy and timeless clothes, but events gives me the opportunity to do different styles like Gothic, Dark, Fantasy or Classic.

What is the prize that you made for Room 326?

Have you visited Mad City? If so, what is your favorite thing about Mad City?

Yes i did since i had the honor to be chosen for a store in it and my favorite thing about it is the atmosphere of the place. It is really well built and you can feel the details put into it.

What is your favorite thing about being involved in the hunt?
Are you planning on doing the hunt yourself?

I like the fact it's a small hunt and its interactivity so people have to really think, search and follow a story to finally get all the gifts in the end. I hope to get the time to do the hunt myself yes! I already had some friends telling me how great it was :D

What would you like to say to the Peas looking to start this MadPea Hunt?

Go have fun! Enjoy a real hunt, meet people and/or do it with your friends,
you won't be disappointed!

Thank you very much for your time and this lovely interview!

It's time...

to begin, isn't it..?

About two years ago I was thinking of a story that I had had in my mind for a while already and shared that with my team. We started discussing: "It wouldn't.." "It can't.." "That's not possible.." "It would take..." the more NOs I heard the more my heart sank and I buried the story all the way back in my head with several other ideas that had never got out..

While building and scripting the Lost Treasure of the Inca Warrior, I suddenly saw that the time was right and when I reminded my team about UNIA they all said YES! Finally we could do it. I could barely contain myself with all that excitement. I knew it in my heart that the time truly had come.

One of the best things in Second Life is the amazing support creators give to each other. The MadPea Crew is insanely talented and fast.. but the undertaking of a game this huge in proportions was something we had never done before... so I bravely contacted the best of the best that I knew and to my surprise they joined our forces! Dear Peas, we're going to give you something you have never experienced in your life!

I don't want to spoil too much.. let the few teaser pictures speak for themselves.. the journey will be long and full of surprises. If you lost your sanity with our games before, it's time to stock up on more. I hear they're selling some on Marketplace..

With action like you've never seen before, creatures from your wildest nightmares, puzzles that will make you hurt..  Support in a way we've never done before..

Touching beauty in the midst of all darkness and evil, giving hope maybe it's not all that bad...

and of course Madness at its purest form.

Unia is coming soon, based on my story and designed by the ever so awesome MadPea Crew in collaboration with the most amazing talented individuals:
Jaimy Hancroft from Death Row Designs
Artist Fuschia Nightfire
Artist Rebeca Bashly
Alia Baroque from Fallen Gods Inc
Artist Bryn Oh
Artist claudia222 Jewell
Scripter Caer Balogh
and
Mocap animations created by Abramelin Wolfe from Abranimations

My loyal sidekick Glitch will be giving you more insight to the people and happenings behind the scenes, so stay tuned.

Peas and Love,
Kiana
